AboutThe artist

Hi, I'm Fran.

A Gold Coast based artist, graduated in Digital Illustration, Graphic Design and Artist Drawings. My work is all about colour, movement and emotion — creating art that changes the atmosphere and makes people feel good the moment they walk in.

Fran Luz at work

Fran is a Brazilian-born, Gold Coast–based artist who paints the way she lives — loudly, warmly, and with a love of nature in every brushstroke.

Trained in Digital Illustration, Graphic Design and Artist Drawings, Fran works across acrylic on canvas, gesso-textured layering, and large-scale murals. Each piece is built up with raised feathers, scales and petals so the work doesn't just sit on the wall — it leans into the room.

Her subjects come from two worlds: the tropical wildlife of Brazil — toucans, parrots, jungle florals — and the coastal life of Queensland, where lobsters, mermaids and ocean light show up again and again.

Fran takes commissions for original canvases and full-scale murals across South-East Queensland and beyond. Tell her a feeling or a wall, and she'll bring it to life.

What guides the work

Three things show up in every piece.

01

Colour as feeling

A room shifts the moment a saturated piece walks in. I lean into vivid, deliberate palettes — pulled from tropical light, the ocean, and the inside of a fruit you'd find at a Brazilian market.

02

Texture that asks to be touched

Gesso build-up, raised feathers, scales and petals. Even from across the room, you can feel the work has been made by hand.

03

Stories worth keeping

A mermaid on a rocky throne, a toucan stealing an olive from a martini. Every piece is a small story — meant to live with you, not match the cushions.
